Join us at the Milan Branch Library, Thursday, October 18 at 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. as we continue to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein with a Frankenstein Storytime. We’ll read a story and decorate some Halloween cookies!

ORV ride at Laughery Valley Fish
Laughery Valley Fish and Game Association will hold an off road vehicle ride on Saturday, October 20. The Club is located at 4852 South Friendship Road, Versailles. Scavenger Ride at St. Paul’s Lutheran

There will be a Scavenger Hunt at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Dewberry on Saturday, October 20. Ride leaves at 1:00 p.m. sharp. Registration is from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the day of event. Register in advance by calling 812-528-8883 or email to ericaanne84@gmail.com. Fee is $20 for early registration or $25 day of event for vehicle and 2 meals. Any additional meals are $10 per person; $5 for 6 to 12 yrs. old and under 5 free. Meal will be served at 5 p.m. The entry locating the most within 4 hours take the Grand Prize. Chili Supper at Versailles Baptist Church

A chili supper will be held Saturday, October 20, at Versailles Baptist Church in the Family Life Center. Serving is from 4:30 - 7 p.m. and there will also be a country store. Free will offering. Sponsored by ABWM.

Halloween Festival at St. Peters Church

St. Peters United Church of Christ on the corner of 700 N. and Finks Rd. will be holding their annual Halloween Festival on Saturday, October 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. There will be a costume contest with prizes, games, crafts, prizes for all, hotdogs, chips, cookies and drinks. This is a free event, all ages are welcome.

Bethany Baptist Church Homecoming

Bethany Baptist Church Homecoming will be holding their Homecoming at 10:30 a.m. on October 21 with Inspiration by Faith in concert. A dinner will follow. The church is located at 328 S. Sycamore St. in Osgood.

Halloween Costume Contest in Osgood
Osgood American Legion Auxiliary Post 267 will host their Annual Halloween Costume Contest October 31. Parade on the brick street down to post starts at 7 p.m.; doors open at 7:20 p.m. and contest begins at at 7:30 p.m. Come in your best Halloween costume and join in the fun. Categories are Animal, TV/Cartoon character, Witch, Ugliest/Scariest, Most Original and Pretties with prizes awarded to first, second and third for each category and these winners will be judged for Best Overall.

Ongoing Events

Golden Gate Community Choir practice
The Golden Gate Community Choir starts practice on September 30 for our Christmas Contata “Christmas Makes Everything New”. We meet every Sunday until December 2 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Osgood. You can begin practice through October. Come join us and bring a friend. Visit One Room Schoolhouse Museum

State Road 62 west of Dillsboro is a scenic highway. It is a beautiful area to take a fall drive. And when you do, be sure to stop in Farmers Retreat (4 miles west of Dillsboro) and visit the historical one room schoolhouse. Listed on the National Register of Historical Places, it was built in 1888 and completely restored as it was, and finished in 1993. It is open for tours each Sunday afternoon from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. during September and October. If you would like to see it at other times, please call 812-432-5401 or 812-667-5330. We also welcome fourth grade teachers to bring their students for field trips. Scouts and any other groups are welcome. There is no charge.

A.W.A.N.A. Bible Club meetings
