Milan’s softball program racked up a big first this past week as sophomore Kynadee Bode was named a Class A/2A First Team All-State selection.
Bode is the first in program history to be a First Team All-State selection. The Softball Coaches Association of Indiana officially released its Class A/2A and Class 3A/4A All-State lists on Thursday afternoon.

The Southeastern Indiana YMCA May meeting of its Board of Directors opened with honoring an exceptional staff member, Alyssa Krekeler, and a special mission moment presentation from Debbie Riley, Y member and mother of Eli, who passed away in November 2022. Riley shared Eli’s story and the impact the Y had on him.

On May 24 the Ripley County Commissioners met in regular session. Officiating the meeting was President, Mark Horstman, also present were Commissioner, Chris Schmaltz; Attorney, John Ertel; and Auditor, Amy Copeland. Copeland was assisted by Danielle McGee.
Horstman introduced James Coffee to the attendees. Coffee is the new EMA Director.
