Rex Johnson

Rex Johnson, age 75, of Batesville, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born on December 25, 1948, in Knott County, Kentucky, a son to Milford and Irene Childers Johnson.

Rex married Trueline Hall on December 14, 1968, and she survives. He was employed with Rumpke for 42 years, retiring in 2016. Rex enjoyed repairing and building old cars with his two sons and enjoyed showing these vehicles off at car shows. He loved the outdoors, telling jokes and stories, and scrolling through Facebook. Most of all he loved his family and time spent with them.

His life will be cherished and missed by his wife, Trueline Johnson of Batesville; sons, Rex Aaron (Nicole) Johnson of Batesville and Brian (Faye) Johnson of Osgood; daughters, Vanessa (Mark) Brown of Osgood, and Amber (Kevin) Dickman of Osgood; 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters, Geral (Hershel) Eldridge of Milan and Sandra Johnson of Milan. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Johnson; 3 brothers, Paul, Graden, and Dickie Johnson and one sister, Brenda Thomas.

Private graveside services and burial will be held at Little Memory Church Cemetery.
