Versailles fire causes major damage

Versailles Fire Rescue was dispatched at 8:15 pm on Mon. evening, Mar. 3, for a fifire in a
residence at 2372 W. Tanglewood Rd. in Versailles. The residence was occupied by Doug
Daggy. There were no injuries and the structure sustained major damage. Firefifighters
were on the scene until a little before midnight Mon. evening. Fire cause is still under
investigation. Departments on the scene were Versailles Fire Rescue, Holton VFD, New
Marion VFD, Osgood VFD, Ripley County EMS and Sunman
Rescue 20.


Bulldogs advance to semifinals

Batesville boys basketball got off to a quick start and never looked back on Tuesday night, defeating rival Greensburg 58-44 in the opening round of Class 3A Sectional 29 at South Dearborn.
