Carl Edgar Hunteman

Carl Edgar Hunteman, age 81, of Rockford, MI, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Born September 11, 1943, in Osgood, Indiana, to Ralph and Ruth (Hunt) Hunteman, Carl graduated from Morehead State University in Kentucky with a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting. He dedicated his career to Marathon Oil as an accountant, bringing diligence and integrity to his work.
On September 18, 1964, Carl married Leda Cumberworth in Holton, Indiana, marking the beginning of a love-filled, devoted sixty year partnership. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and a deep appreciation for nature.
A member of Rockford Springs Community Church, Carl’s faith was a guiding light in his life. He cherished sharing his love for Jesus with his grandchildren, leaving them with memories full of warmth and wisdom. He was an avid woodworker and found peace in nature, crafting beauty with his hands and admiring the world around him.
Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Leda L. Hunteman; son, Timothy (Sheri) Hunteman; daughter, Lana (Timothy) Augustine; six treasured grandchildren, Preston, Donavon, Victoria, Leah, Lindsay, and Lara; sister, Betty (Paul) Birch; sister, Carolyn Pierrel; and sister-in-law, Vera Hunteman. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ivan Hunteman, and his parents, Ralph and Ruth Hunteman.
A visitation was held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rockford Springs Community Church (5814 14 Mile Rd., NE, Rockford, Michigan 49341). A memorial service followed at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Kyle Sanford.
