Osgood woman arrested on drug charges

Josie M. Carr, 39, of Osgood, was among several who were arrested in Scott County recently. She was taken in on charges of Dealing in Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Visiting a Common Nuisance, Possession of a Syringe and Paraphernalia.
Carr was just one of many others who were arrested in another round of people where the Sheriff’s Office has been working hard to eradicate drugs in that county.
About two years ago, we published an article on Carr about her addiction struggle. She said from being prescribed pain medication about 12 years ago that led her down a dark path of using many different drugs, including meth. In the previous story she said, “The hardest thing was perhaps forgiving myself and knowing that you have to live for today. Relapse is one choice away.”
At that time Carr spoke about the struggle. It’s something people without an addiction problem cannot understand. She didn’t blame anyone or anything, just said it was a matter of fact that the struggle is real.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office has been rounding up those taking and/or dealing drugs. Sheriff Jerry Goodin says call their office at 812-752-8400 if you have information that might help them.
