Don’t miss Bricktoberfest – Saturday

The Brick Street that runs between the Osgood Town Hall and the Osgood Public Library looks peaceful and serene above. It will absolutely be bustling with activity come Saturday, September 20 when the 10th Annual Bricktoberfest is held.
No more waiting! The week of Bricktoberfest is here!
The festival is celebrating 10 years on Saturday, September 20 with a great music line up, food and beer gardens and so much more.
Osgood will be bursting with activity on that day with more vendors than ever, according to Hannah Garnett, who has been handling publicity. “Bricktoberfest 2015 started as a small-scale community fall festival for Osgood with a small platform stage and a handful of local vendors,” organizers told the Osgood Journal. “It has grown each year into a special day for family and friends to gather and enjoy a day of fun together.”
There are more activities for the children this year that includes bounce houses. Chalktoberfest will be held in conjunction with Bricktoberfest to bring lots of artistic children to show their talents. This will begin at 10:30 a.m. Also, Booktoberfest will be held from 3-4 p.m. inside the Osgood Library. Children will be able to listen to stories and get a book of their very own along with the opportunity to see a model train display. The Mobile Steam Museum by the Kids Discovery Factory will also be on hand along with a caricature artist and more.
First Due Fire Truck will bring the fun with foam! Kyle Negangard will have the foam blowing into the air and children can enjoy sliding around in it. He usually sprays a little water as well, so bring a change of clothes for the kiddos. It is always a highlight when the big fire truck rolls on the scene with this event.
The music line up is spectacular this year. Goose On a Roof will kick off the festivities at 11 a.m. They are followed by the local popular band 650North at 12:30 p.m., Tom Richardson & The Silverspurs will perform from 2:30 to 4 p.m. with Meaghan Farrell taking the stage from 4:30 to 6 p.m. King Kyote will be performing from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Red Wanting Blue will take it from there. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the day. There will be plenty of food and drinks available to purchase.
Thanks to a community that has pulled together the event is being presented by the Town of Osgood, Osgood Grub Company, Rocco’s Liquor Depot, The Gilmore & Golda Reynolds Foundation, along with the Civista Bank Charitable Foundation and The Napoleon State Bank. Many other local businesses have given as well to make this a real blow out!
The Car Show will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be in memory of Jerry Vollmer, who dedicated countless time and money to his beloved town. To register your vehicle ahead of the show go to bricktoberfest@osgoodindiana.org. or you can register on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. There is no registration fee and the event is open to all vehicles. Organized by Tuffs Hot Rods and sponsored by The Napoleon State Bank, this event will showcase a myriad of vehicles from custom, classic, tractors, motorcycles, jeeps, and more. Cash prizes will be given.
A lot of work and love has been put into the plans for this year’s Bricktoberfest to make it the best ever. All they are waiting on is you!
It will be held on the historic Brick Street (between the town hall and the library) and around that area as it spreads its wings. Come to enjoy seeing your friends and celebrate the community.
