Francis E. Bushorn

Francis E. Bushorn, 86, passed away peacefully at Otterbein Senior Life, Franklin, Indiana on September 11, 2025.
Francis was born to the late Harold and Rosemary (Cook) Bushorn on June 10, 1939 and was raised in Milan, Indiana. After graduation from Milan High School in 1957, he attended business college while helping on the family farm. He worked at the then People’s Bank in Lawrenceburg, Indiana as well as Seagram’s for a short time.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1962-1966. While stationed in Wisconsin he met his wife Carole and began his family. Once discharged from service, Francis worked many different jobs including Bell Captain at Park Motor Inn (Madison, WI), limo driver for Bob Bender (Madison, WI), tobacco field worker, factory worker at WISCO (Oregon, WI), and more. In 1981, when his mother’s health began to fail, Francis moved his family back to Milan to help on the family farm. Upon returning to Indiana, he worked as a landscaper in Cincinnati and helped install utility lines until being hired at Delta Faucet Co, Greensburg. He retired from Delta Faucet after 25 years.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Francis enjoyed the farm, his garden, odd jobs and he never passed up a garage or yard sale.
Francis is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carole (Roloff) Bushorn; his daughters Julie (Michael) Biddle of Morgantown, Indiana, and Patricia (Christopher) Rather of Franklin, Indiana; his grandchildren Erin Biddle (Justin Dickerson), J. Rather, Nicholas (Christina) Biddle, Ethan Rather (Molly Trout) and Emma Biddle.
Francis is also mourned by treasured friends and family of his heart, Allan and Heidi Thompson and their children Nathan (Whitney) Thompson and Hannah (Zach) Martineau.
Francis chose to be cremated and the family will hold an informal gathering at a later time.
Inurnment will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Milan, IN.
