Jeanette E. Thayer

Jeanette E. (Huntington) Thayer age 78 of Lawrenceburg, entered this life on Friday, April 4, 1941 in Ripley County, and passed away from this life on Saturday, January 11, 2020. She was the loving daughter of the late Russell “Ping” and Emma (Whisman) Huntington. She was raised in Friendship, where she was a 1959 graduate of Cross Plains High School. Jeanette was united in marriage on October 13, 1962 to the late Delmer W. Thayer. This happy union was blessed with three sons: Darren, Darrell and Derrick Thayer, and daughter Lynnette Young. Jeanette was employed at Fernald, owned J-Del catering business,was a past member of the Farm Club and was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, word searches, spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Those surviving who will cherish Jeanette’s memory include her sons, Darren (LaDessia) Thayer of Dillsboro, Darrell (Kathy) Thayer of Lawrenceburg, and Derrick Thayer of Dillsboro, daughter Lynnette Young (David Swingle) of Versailles; her grandchildren, Brendon, Alyssa, Reese, Jacob and Samuel; her brothers Russell “Bud” (Brenda) Huntington of Versailles and Eric (Sue) Huntington of Versailles, her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 16, at Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro with Chaplin Mike Hill officiating. Family and friends may call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 16 also at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in honor of Jeanette to Margaret Mary Hospice or donor’s choice.
