Positions open on all school boards

According to information from Ripley County Clerk Ginger Bradford, forms are available in the clerk’s office for anyone wanting to declare candidacy for school board member candidacy – and positions are open at all four county schools.

Batesville has two positions in Distrist 3 (inside the City of Batesville); Jac-Cen-Del and Milan each have two positions to be filled (one each within the town limits and one each at large); and South Ripley has one seat in District 3 (Brown and Shelby Townships; one in District 6 (in the town of Versailles) and one in District 7 (Otter Creek Township and Johnson Township including the Town of Versailles).

Candidates must be at least 21 years old and have resided in the election district at least one year before the election. 

The deadline to declare candidacy is noon on Friday, August 21.
