Warrants are being issued as the search for a killer continues
The community of Holton and surrounding areas were rocked hard by the news that Kristina Jones, 36, had been murdered with apparent fatal injuries to her head and neck. The news was circulating early Monday morning, January 11 after the incident occurred over night Sunday, January 10 at a home on 700 West.
People have been talking, but the Indiana State Police remain tight-lipped as they, along with the Ripley County Prosecutor’s Office have led an extensive investigation into the murder.
Numerous search warrants have been applied for and served on multiple locations, cellular phone records, and social media accounts in a continued effort to collect further evidence.
“Since the discovery of Ms. Jones, the State Police have continued to tirelessly follow every lead. Up to this point, the multi-faceted investigation has consisted of numerous interviews of multiple individuals who may have any relevant information about the death of Ms. Jones,” noted a spokesperson for law enforcement. They continued, “The scene has been searched and items of trace evidence have been collected and sent to the Indiana State Police Laboratory for forensic analysis. An autopsy of Ms. Jones has been conducted and a report of the pathologist’s findings have been collected and reviewed.”
Prosecutor Ric Hertel and the Indiana State Police emphasized that this investigation is ongoing and will continue to be meticulously and aggressively pursued.
“Everyday more information is learned and additional evidence gathered,” noted law enforcement.
