Bulldogs sweep SEI titles

For the first time in over 15 years, Batesville Middle School saw its two boys basketball teams sweep championships as part of the Southeastern Indiana Invitational Tournament.


Veterans presented Quilts of Valor for their service

Pictured is the group of gentlemen who have been honored with the Quilt of Valor. Everyone gathered at Pollard’s Bowl for the new inductees and an appreciation luncheon last week. Pictured is John Ward, of Versailles, Navy 1956-1958; Tom Cummings, Milan, Army 1969-1970; Jay Enginger, Versailles, US Coast Guard 1969-2004; Charlie Ashcraft, Versailles, Army 1953-1955; Charles Sutton, Greensburg, Army 1967-1969; Gary Byard, Versailles, Navy 1965-1968 and Ron Sutton, Holton, Marine Corp. 1969-1971. It is an honor to receive one of these quilts. They are handmade by Mary Ann Geisler and Jean Kieffer.
