One of the last outdoor sporting events not to see Mother Nature’s wind and downpours last week was the annual Great Pumpkin Invitational in Versailles which featured a slew of Southeastern Indiana cross country teams.

The King and Queen Contest was held on Wednesday, September 25 which was the only dry evening of the 121st Annual Pumpkin Show. Pumpkin Show Court from left to right: 2nd Runner up- Cooper Hon from Switzerland Co. High School, 1st Runner up-Christian Mack from Oldenburg Academy, and King Nathan Cole Parker from Lawrenceburg High School. Queen Ellie Lauber from South Ripley High School, 1st runner up- Veronica King from Batesville High School, and 2nd runner up- Isabel Pearson from South Dearborn High School.

Michael Eddy’s Pizza & Specialty Sandwiches had a neat float with a turning pizza wheel and characters. They tied with The Napoleon State Bank for first place in their category.
