Navy veteran is in final resting place

Ripley County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain Randy Thieman, left, gives final words at the graveside memorial service of Navy Veteran Donald Thomas Mathews who lived in Ripley County without a home. The homeless veteran made many friends who in the end gave him the burial a veteran deserves in the Cliff Hill Cemetery, Versailles on Tuesday. Versailles Lions Club says 2024 Pumpkin Show will have new ride company

The Versailles Lions Club took to social media last week with the announcement they have secured a different ride company for the 2024 Versailles Pumpkin Show. They have entered an agreement with Jessop Amusements, Inc. to come to the square in Versailles Wednesday, September 25 through Saturday, September 28.


Lady Bulldogs advance to sectional semifinals

Batesville will play for a spot in the sectional championship game on Friday night after the Lady Bulldogs picked up a 49-25 win over South Dearborn on Tuesday in the opening round of the Class 3A Sectional 29 Girls Basketball Tournament at Lawrenceburg.
