Railyard gets recognition- Sunman bartender top notch

In December of 2023, Bar Boss Competition started their campaign which is supported by their partner Colossal. Colossal organization raises money for charities through online competitions. How the competition works is that bartenders are nominated for the chance to compete by the public. Bartenders selected must make a profile and answer some bartending questions and submit for the process to get started. Samantha McBride, General Manager of Railyard Bar and Grille was anonymously nominated by one of her customers.


Health Dept. wants everyone to be safe

More plans are being made throughout the county for the Solar Eclipse event in April. Camping spots are being taken and the Ripley County Chamber of Commerce is working on an event at the Fairgrounds Park in Osgood that is sure to draw families.
The Ripley County Health Department recently shared some things that will help keep the residents safe and those who travel here.


BCSC Mandarin students to celebrate Chinese New Year

The first of January brought a new year to our traditional calendars; however, students in the Batesville Community School Corporation’s (BCSC) Mandarin dual language immersion (DLI) program will celebrate a different new year in February as a variety of traditional Chinese New Year festivities are held at school. For parents of incoming kindergarteners, these celebrations showcase the opportunities available to their children through this unique curriculum offered in Batesville.
