Legion serves on the square

The Square was a busy place over the weekend. The Versailles American Legion served pulled pork and the trimmings. Pictured above, Legion members Steve Scoggins and Jenny Palmer served food to Mark Quicksall of Versailles.


Lead band singer comes back to Versailles

Versailles native Alexandra Peck is the lead singer for a band from Indianapolis called Living Proof. Living Proof is described as a high energy pop/r&b show band that has opened for legendary acts, including Morris Day & The Time, Earth Wind & Fire, KC & The Sunshine Band, and Chicago. They were also invited to be a featured act at the 2012 Super Bowl Village in Indianapolis. The band has been voted Indy’s Best Cover Band twice and Indy’s Best Wedding Band three times.


80th birthday celebrated on the square!

Barry Pollock, Holton, celebrated his 80th birthday on the Versailles town square Saturday, July 20, by being surprised with around fifty of his family members and friends, one from even as far as Alabama. Pollock’s four children planned the day for him full of surprises including five of his classic cars and family pictures in the courthouse yard. The town square has really become a popular place for social gatherings the past few years and is able to be enjoyed by many individuals both young and old.
