Coach charged with child porn

A local coach has been arrested on 10 allegations of Possession of Child Pornography. Brian Hronek, 48 of Monfort Heights East, OH, was the head coach of the girls’ varsity soccer team at Oldenburg Academy (he took that position earlier this year) and was also listed as the coach with the Cincinnati West Soccer Club for 2019-2020. Both positions were immediately terminated after the entities were told of the investigation.


Holdsworths to be inducted in SEIMA Hall of Fame on November 2

The Southeastern Indiana Musicians Association (SEIMA), will hold its annual Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony on Saturday, November 2 at the Gibson Theater in Batesville. The awards show will feature live performances and a night of story-telling by inductees. This year’s event will feature Nashville artist and hit songwriter Radney Foster.


Lady Raiders volleyball team makes sectional run

The South Ripley Lady Raiders varsity volleyball team capped off their 2019-20 season with a three game sectional run before ultimately falling to sectional champions the North Decatur Lady Chargers 3-0 on Saturday, Oct. 19 in Versailles. The hosting Lady Raiders entered the tournament with an 8-13 regular season record, and drew South Decatur for the first round of Class 2A Sectional 45.
