Benefit ride held for Team Brutus

Bikers rolled through the town of Sunman recently in a benefit ride for a local man – Doug Ballard.
Doug was diagnosed with stage 4 globlastoma, an aggressive type of brain cancer. Despite numerous treatments, the cancer has grown. Doug’s wife, Mandy, has been his exclusive caregiver, juggling her job with his treatments and personal needs.
Ballard had previously worked at Electric Motor Technologies in Ohio, before this illness.
A group of friends decided to come together and hold a benefit on Saturday, June 26 at The Landing in Sunman. A benefit ride, silent auction, hog roast topped off with live music set the stage for a great afternoon. Many local businesses donated for the cause.
A good size group of people turned out to show their love and support for this family in their time of need.
