Batesville boys soccer picked up a huge Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference win on Thursday night and followed it up with an in-county victory on Saturday in two late season contests.
The Bulldogs have now won back-to-back matches after dropping two-straight against Madison and Franklin Central.
Thursday night saw Batesville hang on for dear life in the second half to nail down a 3-2 win over rival Greensburg at home. The Bulldogs led 2-0 at halftime and put in a much-needed goal in the final 40 minutes to combat the Pirates (8-7, 3-3 EIAC) who scored two goals in the second half to nearly pull off a comeback.
Simon Berkemeier led the Bulldogs with two goals and another score was put in by Talan Rowlett. Mathias Davalos added to the offense with an assist. Francisco Orozco stood in the Batesville net and the senior goalkeeper notched two saves.
The blue and white returned to the field on Saturday and blew that match open with five goals in the second half en route to a 6-0 win over Milan at home. Statistics from that match were not provided by time of print.
Batesville (9-5, 4-1 EIAC) hosted East Central on Monday in an EIAC match.
