Bulldog golfers win EIAC
A fifth golfer on the Batesville scorecard was the deciding factor on Saturday and the Bulldogs used that to claim the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference Boys Golf Championship at the Hidden Valley Golf Course.
Landon Raver’s 98 served as the low score among fifth golfers between Batesville and East Central in the 18-hole event.
Prior to the tiebreaker, both the Bulldogs and Trojans had fired a team score of 358. Lawrenceburg was one stroke back in third place at 359, Greensburg sat fourth at 361 and Connersville was fifth with a 371. Franklin County (374), Rushville (418) and South Dearborn (455) rounded out the standings. Lawrenceburg’s Cameron Williams earned individual conference champion honors with a seven-over par 79.
Three Batesville golfers found themselves among All-EIAC selections. Ian Hixson was seventh overall with an 87, Leo Moody was ninth at 87 and Jon Moody finished 12th with an 18-hole 91. Scoring for the Bulldogs was rounded by Raver’s deciding score.
Batesville is at Greensburg this afternoon for a match featuring the host Pirates and Milan.
