Bulldogs sweep county track titles

BATESVILLE ATHLETICS
South Ripley’s Alexa Yeomans and Batesville’s Brock Mahon were named Most Valuable Performers last Thursday night at the Ripley County Championships.
They were the favorite and they won decisively. Batesville track and field had no issues on Thursday night, sweeping the Ripley County Track and Field Championships at home.
Batesville won 26 total events between the boys and girls portions of the championships. It was a repeat championship performance for the two teams.
Boys action saw the Bulldogs win with 105 points while Milan was runner-up with 57 points and South Ripley placed third after scoring 41 points. Jac-Cen-Del sat fourth with 21 points.
The Lady Bulldogs were a winner after putting together an overwhelming 138 points and South Ripley scored 53 points for second place. Milan and Jac-Cen-Del rounded out the standings with 30 points and seven points respectively.

Tonight sees Milan, Jac-Cen-Del and South Ripley compete in the Ohio River Valley Conference Championships at Switzerland County while Batesville competes in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference Championships.
