The 2025 Business Organization of the Year chosen by Ripley County Chamber of Commerce is the Carson Hughes Foundation. Pictured is Phil Hart, Executive Board Member of the Ripley County Chamber of Commerce, Mandy and Jason Hughes of the Carson Hughes Foundation, and Brandi Merkel, Executive Director of the Ripley County Chamber of Commerce.
The Ripley County Chamber held their 27th Annual Business Recognition Luncheon at the Upper Room Café in Osgood. The Carson Hughes Foundation was recognized as the Business Organization of the Year at the luncheon. The prayer was presented by Terri Toops of Reedy Insurance. A delicious lunch was catered by Rollin’ Roosters, Wayne’s Meats and DeLISHious Creations. Krueger-Maddux Greenhouses supplied the flower arrangement centerpieces for the tables.
Jason and Mandy Hughes gave a presentation on behalf of the Carson Hughes Foundation and stated to the Osgood Journal, “We are so appreciative of being chosen for this award and thankful for the support we get from our local community.” The family wants to carry on Carson’s legacy and his love for photography. They expressed how important nature and wildlife was to him and want to be able to give opportunities for other kids to explore the life and love of photography like Carson. Many photographers admire his work and they want to support their endeavors. The Hughes family also supports the athletic and education departments in our local schools as Carson also had a great education and athletic abilities throughout his school years. The Hughes will be having their second annual memorial ride in honor of Carson on September 6 at the Ripley County Fairgrounds, with all proceeds going to the Foundation. Come and enjoy a great day with family and friends honoring Carson.
