Chief Deputy Prosecutor to run for Judge

Ripley County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Shane Tucker has announced that he is running for Ripley County Superior Court Judge. He will run for the Republican Party nomination in the May 5, 2026 primary election. Tucker has served as Chief Deputy Prosecutor since 2015 and, prior to his promotion, was a Deputy Prosecutor since 2012. During his time with the Prosecutor’s Office, Tucker has successfully handled thousands of criminal and civil cases where he routinely handles some of the most complex legal issues in the county.
Tucker, a 2005 graduate of Batesville High School, is married to his high-school sweetheart, Carie (Thielking) Tucker, who has worked as a preschool teacher since 200. They are the proud parents of four children: Knox (8), Jane (7), Reed (5), and Will (4) and cherish raising their family in the community they both grew up. When not at the courthouse, Tucker is usually spending time with his family outdoors or on a sports field coaching his kids’ teams.
“I’m running for Superior Court Judge, because nothing is more important to me than ensuring our county is safe for our families. As a hard-working common-sense conservative, strong supporter of fiscal responsibility, and fierce defender of law and order, I am absolutely committed to improving our community’s safety, ensuring fairness and justice for all who come before the court, and protecting our county’s small-town values.”
“My legal career has and always will be dedicated to serving our county with honor, integrity, and 100% commitment. I learned at an early age that, no matter what, you always control your effort. Never being outworked has led to a number of successes in my career, and it is that same unmatched level of commitment that must be given as Superior Court Judge. Like all communities, I recognize our county faces its challenges, but with my unwavering commitment, extensive courtroom experience, and fresh initiatives, I will work hard every day to meet those challenges and give Ripley County the Superior Court it deserves.”
“I strongly believe justice should reflect the local values of the people it serves and not those pushed on us from larger communities. In Ripley County, certain values are instilled within us: to work hard, act with integrity and humility, and treat each other with respect. If given the opportunity to be your Superior Court Judge, those are the values the court’s operation will rely upon. During my career, I’ve had the honor of helping numerous victims through some of their darkest days to achieve justice. These transformative experiences have given me an even deeper appreciation for the impact justice has on people, and I will be dedicated to ensuring all voices in the courtroom are heard with compassion and respect.”
“It is with a great sense of responsibility, excitement, and humility, that I make the announcement to run for Superior Court Judge. I am incredibly passionate about serving you and your family, and look forward to meeting with you in the coming months. I’m excited to hear your thoughts on how I can best serve our community as judge, and promise to work hard to earn your vote throughout the campaign.”
Tucker is a 2012 graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Prior to that, Tucker received his bachelor’s degree in American History with Honors from Indiana University in 2009.
