County goes to Orange Level with COVID-19
Ripley County Health Department has announced that today the county’s color code map will appear as a level orange, just one step below red. This is due to the seven-day rolling average of positive tests of 7.28% (yellow) and 233 cases/100,000 red.
Event plans for over 150 attendees will have to be submitted to the local health department for approval beginning immediately.
The Indiana Department of Health reminds everyone that they do have weapons to prevent COVID-19 and Hoosiers should use them now. They include being vigilant, ventilation and vaccine. While the first two can be used now, the third is in the making.
First being vigilant includes social distancing, masking, avoiding crowds, staying at home if you are sick and handwashing. Secondly, when indoors, use good ventilation which could include opening windows, air circulation, and turning on fans.
Free COVID-19 testing is still available at the Ripley County Fairgrounds Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.
to 8 p.m. You can register at: https://hi.care/covidtesting.

While we’ve been in this fight for several months, health officials warn, “It’s not over yet!” They encourage everyone to keep vigilant following all of the above criteria.
