Drug take-back event successful

Over 100 pounds of medications were brought to the Versailles Police Department at their recent Drug Take Back Program. Pictured from left: Mary Ellen Rippe, Ripley County Drug Coalition, Megan Applegate, Margaret Mary Outreach and Versailles Town Marshal Joe Mann, stand with several boxes of unused or unwanted medication that was brought in recently. In all, they collected 102.4 pounds. This is a great opportunity for people to get rid of prescription medications that could otherwise fall into the hands of kids, or be sold on the street. The program has proven effective.
