Firefighters respond to Osgood home
On Thursday, Aug. 22 at 10:34 p.m. the call came in for the fire departments to respond to the Joe (Kim) Carroll residence at 4061 W. County Rd 525 N in Osgood for a house fire. It started in the attic area of the one-story ranch home. It was believed to be electrical. Plastic and storage items in the attic were engulfed in flames and when the Carroll family checked where the smoke was coming from and opened the attic door debris came out of the attic causing small fires on the first floor. The fire had also burned a hole through their roof.
At press time of the Osgood Journal the house was not determined to be a total loss. The family was able to save some personal effects and belongings. The Carroll family was safe and there were no injuries.
Rodney Stepleton, Second Chief in command at Osgood Fire Dept. told the Osgood Journal, “I just want to thank all the departments for working well together. Without the help, one fire department would not be able to get the fires out. All the community came together to help this family in need.”
Assisting with the fire was Osgood, Napoleon, Holton and Delaware Fire Departments. Ripley Co. EMS, Ripley Co. Sheriff Dept. Deputies and Osgood Police were also there for support.
