Indians fall on Senior Night

Milan boys soccer celebrated Senior Night on Monday prior to Ohio River Valley Conference action but match wise the Indians were unable to add to the festivities, falling to Class A No. 7 Switzerland County 5-1.

Switzerland County remains unbeaten on the season, sitting at 10-0 overall with a conference-leading 7-0 mark attached to the record. The Pacers used Monday to sweep the regular season series away from the Indians.

The Pacers spent much of the evening building up their lead and put all five of their goals up on the board before Milan was able to break through on an Ayden Potts goal with 18 minutes left in the match. For Switzerland County, Cooper Todd led with three goals while Levi Curlin added two goals. Todd, Curlin and Ashton Purvis were credited with one assist apiece.

Despite the loss, Milan was able to put up 13 shots on goal which included the goal by Potts. Switzerland County goalie Aiden Furnish had 12 saves in the net.
Milan (2-7-1, 1-5-1 ORVC) was at Jac-Cen-Del on Wednesday in an ORVC rivalry match.
