Initial hearing held for West

An initial hearing for Andy West, Sunman, was held October 21 at 9:00 a.m. in Superior Court in front of the Honorable Judge Jeff Sharp. West had outstanding warrants, the first which was issued in early September, for multiple felony charges from six separate cases. These cases all stemmed from a first charge of Intimidation: Threat is to commit a forcible felony, a level 6 felony and Invasion of Privacy, a class A misdemeanor.
West was booked in the Ripley County jail on Thursday, October 16. At the initial hearing, West plead not guilty to all charges and denied all probation violation charges. Counsel for West, Judson McMillan, requested a continuance of two weeks for a bond hearing before a bond is set for West.
The State of Indiana, represented by Prosecutor Ric Hertel, did not object to the request for a continuance. West is currently being held without bond pending a hearing set for November 5 at 9:30 a.m. which will determine a bond amount.
