Jac-Cen-Del leads county teams at ORVC track and field meet

The Jac-Cen-Del boys and girls track and field teams both placed second out of seven Ohio River Valley Conference teams at the recent conference meet held on May 7 at Switzerland County High School.
Girls team results: Switzerland County 115, JCD 89, South Ripley 73, Southwestern (Hanover) 69, Rising Sun and Milan 47, and Shawe Memorial 24.
Boys team results: Southwestern (Hanover) 145, JCD 80, Switzerland County 61, Milan 57, Rising Sun 55, South Ripley 52, and Shawe Memorial 15.
Top performers for JCD girls included: Cloey Simon – second in 100 and 200 meter dashes and first in 300 meter hurdles, Kayla Simon – second in 400 meter dash and first in 100 meter hurdles, Lauryn Dilk – second in 800 meter run, and Shaylee Volz – first in shot put and third in discus. The 4×400 meter relay team of Kayla Simon, Cloey Simon, Dillan Hughes, and Lauryn Dilk also placed second.
Top performers for JCD boys included: Damon Hughes – first in 800 and 1600 meter runs and second in 3200 meter run, Christian Comer – third in high jump and long jump, and Blake Simon – third in shot put and discus. The 4×100 meter relay team of Tanner Dilk, Luke Comer, Blake Simon, and Christian Comer also placed third.
Top performers for South Ripley girls included: Lanie Nicholson – third in 800 meter run, Megan Cole – first in 1600 and 3200 meter runs, Elyse Hunger – second in 1600 and 3200 meter runs, and Cierra Copeland – third in shot put and second in discus. The 4×800 relay team of Megan Cole, Deborah Murphy, Emily Campbell, and Elyse Hunger also placed first.
Top performers for South Ripley boys included: Jacob Elliott – first in high jump, and Mark Adams – second in shot put and discus. The boys 4×800 meter relay team of Tanner Franklin, Trenton Franklin, Dalton Parker, and Nick Zigan also placed third.
Top performers for Milan girls included: Alyssa Brinkman – third in 1600 meter run, Alijah Craig – third in 300 meter hurdles, and Cici Bailey – second in high jump. The 4×800 meter relay team of Alyssa Brinkman, Morgan Delmar, Jamey Tush, and Abbey Knowlton also placed third.
Top performers for Milan boys included: Peyton Cavins – first in 100 meter dash and second in 200 meter dash and Matt Riehle – second in 100 meter dash and 400 meter dash. The 4×400 relay team of Matt Riehle, Casey Burdette, Trent Burdette, and Peyton Cavins also placed second.
