Jac-Cen-Del’s Homecoming ceremony took place on Friday, February 11, just before the boys’ varsity basketball game against Hauser.
Nominated for Homecoming Prince and Princess were Jaden Meisburger and Ashleigh Hawley representing the freshman class, with Seth Drockelman and Kylie Ohlmansiek representing the junior class.
The King and Queen candidates, all ambassadors of Jac-Cen-Del’s 2022 senior class were Reed Day and Emma Newhart, Caleb Simon and Annabelle Williams, Justin Swinney and Shelby Reatherford, and Ryan Wilson and Aundrea Cullen.
The event was hosted by Jac-Cen-Del’s student council and was emceed by student council vice president Tracy McKitrick. This year’s theme was Candy Land, with four stations situated around the basketball court to resemble a lollipop forest, a gingerbread house, chocolate mountain, and an ice cream sea. Each king and queen candidate was asked a question which corresponded with the design of the station they were assigned to.
At the end of the night, the prince, princess, king and queen were crowned. The Homecoming Prince was sophomore Sam Schwering and the princess was sophomore Reagan Hughes.
Lastly, the Homecoming King and Queen were announced as Emma Newhart and Reed Day. They were crowned by the staff Homecoming King and Queen – Mr. Steve Narwold and Ms. Kayla Bowling – who had been voted on by the Jac-Cen-Del student body.
Homecoming was a wonderful night to welcome back some former Eagles and celebrate what makes Jac-Cen-Del so great.
