JV Lady Bulldogs claim EIAC tourney

Batesville’s junior varsity volleyball team went 3-0 en route to the EIAC Tournament championship. The Lady Bulldogs won their three matches by a combined 6-0 score.
Batesville’s junior varsity volleyball program put together one final highlight of the year last week after winning the EIAC JV Tournament Championship at South Dearborn.
The Lady Bulldogs went 3-0 in the tournament to claim the title including a lopsided 2-0 win over Greensburg in the championship tilt. Batesville won the match by 25-20 and 25-11 scores.
Batesville opened with a 2-0 win against South Dearborn by scores of 25-16 and 25-10 and then was a 2-0 winner over Rushville in the semifinal round by scores of 25-18 and 25-15. Several individuals aided the Lady Bulldogs along the way en route to the championship.
Molly Meer was a perfect 40-for-40 serving with four aces during the day while Anya Richey was 33-of-34 with four aces. Annie Negovetich was a perfect 12-for-12 serving and put two aces over the net. Grace Walters had a team-high 19 kills, Addison Luers had 10 kills and Sarah Bedel recorded eight kills. Lydia Haskamp added six kills to the cause.
Negovetich and Walsman were credited with a team-leading defensive effort in the three matches.
