Knights, Lions, volunteers headed south with load of goodies for storm survivors
SUBMITTED PHOTO
This was the photo taken as the Indiana Knights of Columbus Disaster Response Team with the Indiana Lions Clubs collected and distributed over $20,000 worth of totes, toys, and gift cards to the victims of the recent tornados in Kentucky at sites in Madisonville and Nortonville, areas around Dawon Springs and Bremen, KY. Many Knights and Lions from around the state of Indiana and Ohio worked behind the scenes to collect donations to make Santa’s Dream a reality. Special recognitions to Assistant State Warden, Sir Knight Mike Lewis, GK of Coucil #2111 Sir Knight Doug Sheets, and DFK of Osgood Council #8487, Spencer Johnson. Along with Milan Lions Judy Jorden, Andy Schwier, and Santa’s lifelong friend from Ohio Kiwanian Bob Luchsinger. A special thanks to Osgood Lion and Santa’s right arm, Toni McDonald, elves Keri Johnson and Lynn McDonald. A return trip is being planned and coordinated with the several local contacts made.
