Lady Raiders fall to Jennings Co.

South Ripley volleyball fell in its final regular season non-conference match on Monday evening, falling 3-0 to Jennings County on Senior Night.
The evening was highlighted by South Ripley honoring its three senior team members in Sierra Jessee, Brionna Linkel and Katelynn Samples. Monday action was also used as a final measuring stick game prior to postseason play beginning next week.
Jennings County (21-8) won all three games inside the match despite a challenge from the Lady Raiders. The Lady Panthers won set one with ease at 25-12 before surviving bigger fights in sets two and three, winning by scores of 25-22 and 25-21 respectively. South Ripley had won five-straight matches prior to the contest.
Macy Stone had a perfect serving percentage for South Ripley while serving 13 points along with three kills in the match. Ellie Lauber had 13 kills, Linkel finished with 18 assists and 16 digs and Lydia Cornett had 20 receptions with 12 digs. Samples was 9-of-11 serving with three points two aces and Suzie Gunter had a block.
Jennings County junior Charlee Barlow had 14 kills while the duo of Zoie Suhre and Avynn Belding each had four blocks. Taylor Mowery had a team-high 17 digs.
South Ripley (16-11) plays at Shawe Memorial tonight with the outright Ohio River Valley Conference title on the line. A Shawe win means the two teams share the conference championship.
