Lady Raiders move to 5-0

South Ripley volleyball celebrates a score as part of a 3-0 win at Austin on Tuesday night. The Lady Raiders are now 5-0 to begin the new season.
South Ripley volleyball is now 5-0 on the season after a pair of victories on Monday and Tuesday of this week.
The Lady Raiders started 3-0 after sweeping through the Southwestern Invitational on Saturday in Hanover. South Ripley opened its home slate on Monday with a 3-0 sweep against Switzerland County and Tuesday saw the green and white win 3-0 at Austin.
Monday’s Ohio River Valley Conference battle saw South Ripley roll by straight-set scores of 25-7, 25-13 and 25-14. Sophomore Kaylie Effing and junior Claire Samples recorded six kills and five kills respectively while the trio of Addison Seabolt, Kaiya Rinear and Kinley Demaree dominated the serving line. Seabolt served a team-high eight aces, Rinear followed with seven and Demaree notched six.
Rinear and Abriah Hogg posted two blocks apiece and Rinear’s night wrapped up with nine digs. Samples added seven digs and Avery Andrews racked up 13 assists.
Set scores from Tuesday’s match at Austin were not provided by time of print. Seabolt and Andrews combined for 32 assists with Seabolt also serving four aces. Rinear led with 12 digs and 10 kills and Kaidyn Gilpin was next in line with eight kills. Serving three aces and two aces respectively were Payten Linville and Illana Prosser.
South Ripley (5-0) hosts Jac-Cen-Del in a county rivalry match on Friday night.
