Lady Raiders swim wins four-way meet
South Ripley’s varsity girls swimming team traveled to Switzerland County on Saturday, Dec. 21 and came home with a team victory over participating schools Switzerland County, Lanesville, and Silver Creek.
Additionally, freshman Darcie Diem set a new school record, previously held by her sister Mikayla, in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:17.00.
The Lady Raiders had several top three finishers in races at the meet: Sophie Guenther, Olivia Kavanaugh, Darcie Diem, and Emma Morris won the 200 medley relay, Darcie Diem won the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle, Sophie Guenther placed second in the 500 freestyle and 100 backstroke, Olivia Kavanaugh placed second in the 100 breaststroke, Hailee Woliung placed third in the 100 butterfly, and the relay team of Hailee Woliung, Jamie Thomas, Abby Bradley, and Issy Peak placed third in the 200 freestyle.
