Little Soul’s cemetery dedication to be held Sunday
The fall beauty surrounding the Tanglewood Little Soul’s Cemetery at Tanglewood Cemetery (located at 1739 S. County Road 175 W. Versailles), adds to the connection between Creation and the little ones remembered there.
The Tanglewood Little Soul’s Cemetery is the only dedicated area in a Ripley County cemetery for miscarried remains and has an area to also memorialize those babies miscarried.
Everyone is invited to the dedication ceremony this Sunday, November 2 at 3 p.m. at the cemetery near the grove. This is located at 1739 S. County Road 175 W., Versailles.
According to information from Owen Menchhofer, the dedication of this first-of-a-kind area for families here in the area is for those who have lost babies prior to 20 weeks gestation. The cemetery is open to all families to place their miscarried babies and/or to memorialize them.
The cemetery was funded with many, many donations from families in the area and donors from Tanglewood Cemetery and matched with a grant from the Tanglewood Baptist Legacy Fund, Inc.
A big thank you goes to the donors and grant, but also to Tony Byard for his masonry skills, Gilpin Monuments for engraving the monuments, and Rebecca Harpring of the Covenant Resources Miscarriages Ministry of Greensburg for her guidance in the project.
