Local archers advance to nationals

Batesville Middle School
Southeastern Indiana claims itself to be a hotbed when it comes to archery and our coverage area schools proved that this past weekend as several from Batesville, Jac-Cen-Del and South Ripley punched tickets to this spring’s national championship shoot.
The Indiana NASP State Championship was held in Indianapolis with a total of four coverage area schools competing. This included shoots from elementary through high school.
For the weekend, two coverage area teams stood tall and claimed back-to-back state championships as both Batesville High School and Batesville Middle School achieved the feat. The Bulldogs saw their high school team also win the Indiana NASP 3D State Championship while Batesville Intermediate School took a state runner-up finish in the traditional shoot.
