Locals dominate boys All-ORVC team
South Ripley, Jac-Cen-Del and Milan combined for 11 players on the 16-man list as the Ohio River Valley Conference released its boys basketball All-Conference team this past week.
Headlining the majority of the conference awards was South Ripley who won the outright ORVC title with an unblemished 6-0 mark in conference play. Jac-Cen-Del finished runner-up at 5-1 while Southwestern (Hanover) sat in third place with a 4-2 record. The standings were rounded out by Milan in fourth place at 3-3, Rising Sun in fifth place at 2-4, Switzerland County in sixth place at 1-5 and Shawe Memorial finishing seventh with an 0-6 record.
South Ripley’s Tyler Theising was named the ORVC Coach of the Year, his first Coach of the Year award inside the conference. Milan’s Josh Clark was named the ORVC Mental Attitude Award winner. Jac-Cen-Del, Milan and Southwestern all shared co-conference champion honors at the junior varsity level.
