A new business has been established on the square in Versailles - Novel Hearts, owned by Cheryll Obendorf and Laura Smart.
The book store will have their grand opening this Saturday, June 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Susan Ray, local author, will be there, as they celebrate with cookies, bookmarks, and a grand prize drawing for a Novel Hearts swag bag.
When asked how it all started, Smart said, “It all began with us starting a book club where we read a book called ‘The Banned Bookshop of Miss Maggie’.” After that, she said they wondered why not open a bookstore? Then it all began to fall into place.
Novel Hearts will also be featuring collaborative art projects at their shop, bringing the community together to make something beautiful.
They have a great book selection. They also carry used books and will order books for you if it is not on their shelf. You can order books from them on https://bookshop.org/shop/novelhearts.
They are located at 133 W. Tyson Street in Versailles, on the south side of the square.
About Us:
Novel Hearts is a community-driven book and local art store rooted in the heart of the people it serves. Our mission is to offer good-quality used books, new books, unique gifts and cards, and art classes. It’s a place where artists, readers, and book lovers can gather to feed their passion and spark their imagination.
Once upon a time, a couple of dreamers met at a Book Club…They spoke of books, art, and creative things. The dreamers knew the need for these precious things. In a leap of faith, in God above, the dreamers took a step and opened an exciting new chapter…
