Parents deal with grief by helping others with Pay It Forward event
Osgood residents Gregg and Monica Ogden recently experienced the unfortunate loss of their son, Jeremy Ogden. Although he is no longer with them physically, his wonderful legacy of kindness, compassion, leadership, and his true love for baseball remain.
To keep his legacy alive, Jeremy’s parents are on a mission. A mission to find ways to do the things that he always did. The easiest way to honor his legacy, is to pay it forward. To be kind, generous, and to feel great joy by helping others.
In order to make this mission a grand slam, they need your help!
Do you have any baseball gear you no longer use? Gear you have had piled in the basement looking for a new home? Perfect! That is exactly what they are looking for.
The purpose? Jeremy played baseball at Jac-Cen-Del and later coached and gave lessons to the younger generation. Watching Jeremy throughout the years and seeing different dynamics can make one realize that others may have the same love for the game at a young age but may not have the funds or equipment to get started. Their mission is to collect slightly used baseball gear and bring it back to life. Even if this means giving it a good scrub, or a new grip!
Who will be the main guy to assist the Ogden’s with this mission? One of the most talented baseball players they know, who also knows a lot about the game and is one of the best helpers in order to help carry out this mission! Jeremy’s son, Gregg and Monica’s Grandson, Heath.
Their hope is to refurbish the items over the winter and help young athletes off to a good start in the spring! Let’s do this!
You may help keep Jeremy’s legacy alive by donating the following items for an athlete in need: Gloves, Batting Gloves, Bat, Cleats, Helmets, Catchers Gear, Baseball Pants.
To make this mission possible, Jeremy’s parents will make pick-up of the items as seamless as possible!
You may reach Greg & Monica at (812) 528-0683 to arrange pick-up.
If they are unable to answer at the time, please leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
Baseball is America’s Pastime. Let’s keep his legacy alive and pay it forward!
