Schebler earns All-State recognition
Batesville High School graduate Charlie Schebler received the final accolade of his high school baseball career late last week after being named All-State Honorable Mention.
The All-State teams for each respective class were released on Wednesday by the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Schebler, an Indiana All-Star this summer, received honorable mention recognition in Class 3A after a senior season that saw him accumulate a batting average of .464 with 39 hits, 25 RBI and 24 runs scored while also holding a 5-1 pitching record with an earned run average of 2.54. He was the only coverage area player mentioned on the All-State lists.
Of local interest, Connersville catcher Chance Bentley was a Class 3A First Team All-State pick and Southwestern (Hanover) third baseman Jordan DeAtley was First Team All-State in Class 2A. Teammate Jamison Lewis was honorable mention in 2A. In Class A, Rising Sun’s Peyton Merica was honorable mention as was South Decatur’s Avery Seegers and Devin Pate alongside Nolan Burkhart of North Decatur. Class 4A honorable mention nods went to Sam Bond and Brayden Rouse, both of East Central.
