Betsy Carol Heaton Hatton
Mrs. Betsy Carol Heaton Hatton, age 78, of Madison, Indiana formerly of Switzerland County entered this life on July 27, 1946 in Oldham County, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late Owen Thomas Heaton, Sr. and Mildred Jessie Thompson Heaton. She married Clifford Elmer Hatton on September 6, 1963 in Vevay, Indiana and this marriage of over 30 years blessed her with three children, Tina, Natalie, and Shawn. She farmed with her husband for many years, and she worked for Belterra Casino as a security officer for ten years before retiring in 2020. She lived in Switzerland County for most of her life, and moved to Jefferson County in 2016. She loved to garden and listen to country music. She loved her dog, Sammy. Betsy died on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 3:14 pm at the Arbor Grove Senior Care and Nursing Home in Greensburg, Indiana.
A LOVING FAMILY
Betsy will be missed by her loving daughters, Natalie Thornsberry and her husband, Shane of Madison, Indiana; Tina Ehle and her husband, Tom of Martinsville, Indiana; her loving son, Clifford Shawn Hatton and his husband, Chris Valdez of Boston, Massachusetts; her sister, Frances “Frankie” Sigmon of Florence, Indiana; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Owen T. Heaton, Sr., died June 27, 1989, her mother, Mildred Jessie Thompson Heaton, died December 26, 2000, her brothers, Paul Wayne Heaton, died July 9, 1939 and Owen T. Heaton, Jr., died November 13, 2020, her sister, Mary Belle Jones, died December 15, 2015.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., by Pastor Jim Wilson at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Cross Plains Baptist Church Cemetery in Cross Plains, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may visit on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
