David Floyd McKittrick

David Floyd McKittrick, 79, of Milan passed away Monday, June 8, 2020 at his residence in Milan. David was born Thursday, August 29, 1940 in Ripley County, Indiana, the son of the late James and Helen (Parsons) McKittrick. He married Mary Volz Meyer on September 11, 2004 and she survives. David served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked at Jefferson Proving Ground as a maintenance foreman and an electrician. He was an active member of Milan First Baptist Church, Milan American Legion, and Milan Lions Club. He enjoyed reading, gardening, rabbit hunting, traveling, visiting National Parks, and fishing.

David is survived by his wife Mary of Milan; sons: Scot (Kristi) McKittrick of Williamsburg, Virginia and Jason (Julie) McKittrick of Osgood; step-son Chad (Jill) Meyer of Milan; step-daughters Paula (Jason) Hockett of New Palestine and Paige (Zach) Wade of Milan; brother John McKittrick of Milan; sisters Rita Pulley of Columbus, Ohio and Betty Cooke of Louisiana; and thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Rickie (Palmer) McKittrick, brothers Howard, James, and Robert.

A service celebrating his life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with Pastor Harris Long officiating. Burial will follow in New Craven Cemetery, with full military rites provided by the Milan American Legion Post #235. Family and friends may gather to share and remember him 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday also at the funeral home. Memorials may be given in honor of David to the Milan First Baptist Church or Milan Fire Department.
