David Leslie Manlief

David Leslie Manlief, age 83, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Jan. 9, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born Oct. 28, 1940 to Thomas and Joan Manlief, David was a 1958 graduate of Sunman High School and in later years a graduate of Indiana University. He was a military veteran who served proudly as a Marine in Vietnam, as a Bell UH-1 Iroquois (Huey) helicopter pilot. In his retirement, David and Mary enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and visited all 50 states.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law (Kenneth D. Wisehart). Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Mary Louise (Johnson) Manlief, a son Mike Manlief, a daughter Jen Manlief, siblings Malcolm Manlief (Ramona) and Patricia (Manlief) Wisehart, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
