Dennis Edward McAdams, 71, of Versailles entered into rest at 6:44 pm, Saturday, September 16, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Edgewood, Kentucky. Den, Denny, papaw, grandpa and dad as he was known. He was a  kind, humble and gentle man known by his family and friends. He was born at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, Indiana, on August 1, 1952 the son of John A. McAdams and Della Mae McMurray McAdams who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother Kenneth (Nancy) McAdams of Milan, Indiana. Dennis was married to June Marie Ingram on December 18, 1971. His beloved wife of 48 years preceded him in death. 

Dennis is survived by his daughter Denise (Shane) Russell of Connersville, his son John McAdams (Fiancé Brooke Edwards) of Versailles; 5 grandchildren Denisha Howell (Patrick), Alexis Russell, Hunter McAdams, Jackson McAdams, and Shane McAdams; two great-grandsons Allen Howell and Linden Howell; one sister Francis (Dennis) Banks of Moores-Hill. He is also survived by his sister in law, brother in laws, aunts and uncles, several nieces and nephews. Dennis attended Dearborn County Schools.

His greatest joy was his grandchildren. He loved his family, fishing, and a good cold Miller High Life. The Game Show Network and the Andy Griffith Show being his favorite classics. Dennis was very mechanical and technical. He was very knowledgeable in computers. He loved his old county music, playing his guitar and banjo with his grandson. He worked for many years for Pierson-Hollowell in Greendale, Indiana as a warehouse clerk. A member of the Sons of the American Legion, Osgood. Absolutely a man of his word. Dennis will be missed and will reside in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Visitation and funeral services for Dennis will be held Monday, September 25, 2023, from 11:00a to 1:00p, with funeral starting at 1:00p at Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Ripley County Food Pantry in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
