Denver Sullivan

Denver Blanchard Sullivan, 87, of Osgood, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Greenfield, IN.

Born April 5, 1937, in a farmhouse in Switzerland County, IN near Vevay, He was the son of Hazel Elizabeth (Agrue) and Elmer Kendall Sullivan.

Denver was a 1956 graduate of New Marion High School. Upon graduation, he was drafted into the US Army. He was placed on active duty during the Korean War where he served as Military Police and other special operations.

Following his military career, he worked at the Milan Furniture factory and was a driver for Aikens Trucking.

On December 17, 1966, he married the love of his life, Ruth Eileen Pilz of Napoleon.

Shortly after the wedding, Denver resumed his law enforcement career path and became Town Marshall of Osgood and worked with the Ripley County Sheriff and the Indiana State Police for many years.

In February 1973, Ruth and Denver had their first and only child, Denver Earl.

Denver eventually left law enforcement and worked in corporate security for Hillenbrand Industries until his retirement in 2005.

Denver was a member of the Laughery Valley Fish & Game Club, Sunman Fish & Game Club, and a past member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He loved hunting, fishing, target shooting, and mowing his lawn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dawson, Dennis, and Delbert-Eugene Sullivan; a sister, Dorothy Moberly; and his beloved wife Ruth. He is survived by his son, Denver Earl Sullivan of Osgood.

Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood.  Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday also at Neal’s.   Services will be officiated by Bill and Tammy Leak. Military honors will be conducted by the Osgood American Legion at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
