Eleanor Pohlman

Eleanor Pohlman, 92, of Milan passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. Eleanor was born Wednesday, July 6, 1927 in Patriot, Indiana, the daughter of the late Edward and Ella (Seaver) Koons. She married Fred Pohlman on December 5, 1947 and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2011. Eleanor was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and retired from Schenley Distillery after 31 years. She was a member of Farm Bureau; enjoyed reading, gardening, farming, and spending time with family and friends; and loved her dogs.

Eleanor is survived by her daughter Jan (Tom) Luers of Batesville; granddaughter Ann (Bill) Bunnell of Milan; great grandchildren Jackson, Madison, and Katelyn Bunnell; special friend Alvin Busching; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Ella; husband Fred; brothers Russell and Cecil Koons; and sister Mildred Brameier.

Due to the Governor’s COVID-19 mandate, a private visitation will be held for Eleanor Pohlman’s family. A public graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery north of Milan, with Pastor Sue Socha officiating.
