Elsie Marie (McIntosh) Voss
Elsie Marie (McIntosh) Voss, 101, went to her heavenly home on Monday, June 22, 2020, in Florence, Alabama where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law since 2013. Elsie was born on Tuesday, April 1, 1919, in Rising Sun, Indiana, to the late Walter and Grace (Scudder) McIntosh. She was married to her beloved husband, Estal, for 67 years. They lived and raised their family in Milan, Indiana, retiring to Naples, Florida in 1985. Elsie’s family was her most important life’s work, and she worked tirelessly to meet their needs. She also worked as a secretary for a doctor, and an insurance agent. She was a member of Eastern Star Milan Chapter, Chi Phi Gamma Sorority, and enjoyed her bridge club ladies. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Milan. Elsie is dearly loved by her family and friends and will be missed more than words can express.
Elsie is survived by her sons, Bill (Verna) and Tom (Sue) Voss, and daughter Judy (Darrell) Voss Campbell. She has seven grandchildren, Greg Voss, Debbie Voss, Hollee Voss Lewis, Jeff (Miranda) Campbell, Julie (Mike) Campbell Gregory, Tina (Jim) Voss Hansen, Bob (Shannon) Voss; fifteen great-grandchildren, Brett (Allia) Voss, Ryan Voss, Alicia (Russ) Jarvis Coley, Amanda (Jeff) Jarvis Downs, Alexis (Peter) Lewis Folz, Ashley and Alaina Lewis, Devin and Ethan Gregory, Colin, Claire, Hadley Campbell, Zach Zerbe, Brenna and Spencer Voss; five great-great-grandchildren, Rickey and Howie Coley, Levi and Baylee Downs, Wyatt Folz. She has one surviving brother, Donald McIntosh. She is preceded in death by her husband Estal; her son, Bobby Voss; brother, Leon McIntosh; sister, Geneva McIntosh Strasemeier; and grandson, Scott Thomas Voss.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the Milan First Baptist Church with Pastor Harris Long officiating. Burial will follow in Craven Cemetery. Family and friends may gather to share and remember her from 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday also at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Milan First Baptist Church or Woodmont Baptist Church in Florence, Alabama.
