Frederick Leland Sparks

Frederick Leland Sparks of Milan, Indiana was born March 24, 1936 to Emma (Felix) Sparks and Edwin Sparks in Milan Indiana. They preceded him in death. He entered into eternal rest on May 31, 2025.

Fred was also preceded in death by 2 sisters Lucille (Sparks) BeDunnah and Eva (Sparks) Delay, and 5 brothers, Raymond Sparks Gene Sparks Lawrence Sparks Clifford Sparks and Robert Sparks.

He also raised 5 children, Steve (Candy) Feller, Kathy (Dick) Sutton, (Dick preceded him in death), Sharon (Dean) Bonta, Karen (Tom) Poole and Gene Sparks; who preceded him in death.

He had 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fred was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Dillsboro, IN. He loved God, his church and church family.

In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, watching March Madness with his grandchildren, attending horse races and playing all types of card games. He loved spending time with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He retired from Cummins in the late 1980’s and enjoyed a long-retired life. He was a member of the Milan American Legion.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 from 1-2 pm at Hope Baptist Church, Dillsboro, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hope Baptist Church by mailing to Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, Indiana 47006.
