Jeffrey A. Ficklin
Jeffrey A. Ficklin, 47, of Madison passed away Monday, November 18, 2019 at his home. He was born at the King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison on April 4, 1972, the son of Donald and Eva Sproessig Ficklin.
Survivors include two brothers Tim (Carrie) Ficklin of Rising Sun, and Robert Ficklin of Palmyra; nephews Dustin Whiteford and Taylor Ficklin, nieces Katelynne Whiteford and Sophia Ficklin, and great-nephew Dallas Whiteford. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jeff was a 1990 graduate of South Ripley High School and was currently employed with Nucor Steel at Ghent, Kentucky where he worked in quality control. He was a former employee of Sentry Tubing in Madison, the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, and had worked as a Reserve Deputy for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Jeff was a member of the Holton United Methodist Church, a former member of the Indiana National Guard, and had been active in Big Brothers/ Big Sisters in Jefferson County. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Funeral services were held at on Saturday, November 23 at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Joseph Hart of the Bible Baptist Church in Greendale officiating. Burial was in the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Jefferson County in care of the funeral home.
